How long does Shilajit take to work?+
The human studies used different durations: 90 days for testosterone and semen parameters, 8 weeks for muscular fatigue and the collagen biomarker, 48 weeks for bone density, 12 weeks for muscle gene expression, and 28 days for the resin pilot. These describe study periods, not a guaranteed timeline for personal results. Individual responses vary, and no study guarantees a noticeable effect.
Do all Shilajit products provide the same benefits?+
No. Each human study used a specific purified, processed, or standardised preparation at a specific dose. Resin, capsules, gummies, liquids, powders, raw material, and multi-ingredient products can differ in active content, standardisation, dose, and contaminants. A positive result from one tested product does not validate every commercial Shilajit product.
Is Shilajit worth taking?+
It depends on your goals and the product. If your interest aligns with the areas that have human evidence and you can verify product quality through a current, batch-specific certificate of analysis, a trial may be reasonable. If you are seeking effects the evidence does not support, cannot verify quality, or have a medical condition requiring professional guidance first, the cost and the risk may not be justified.
